City of Sunderland College
For young people aged 16 - 19 years who may have missed the September start date for college.
Enrolling for a number of courses to take place at;
Tuesday 12th January 10am – 12 noon or 1pm – 3pm Connexions, Fawcett Street, Sunderland
Wednesday 13th January 10am – 12 noon Connexions, Washington Library
Thursday 14th January 1pm – 3pm Connexions, Newbottle Street, Houghton-le-Spring

Anti-homophobic bullying film clip competition
Are you aged 16 - 21yrs and want to do something about homophobic bullying? Then produce a film clip with a positive messge to win great prizes and get your message heard across the country. Deadline for entries 28th February 2010. Details here.

Are Mosquitos Justified?
The UK Youth Parliament are running a survey giving you the opportunity to give your opinion on the mosquito. The results will be collated and delivered to Downing Street. Take the Survey

Pedge "RespectSpeakUp"
Get your voice in the media, and make sure you share your views with the people who really affect your lives. The Respect? campaign are asking 1,000 young people to sign a pledge to speak up when they see a story in the media which affects them. Deadline to sign up is 31st May 2010. 202 people have signed up so far. Sign up here

EXPIRED Free training for young people (British Youth Council)
Every Young Voice - a 3 part course designed to help youth representatives become more effective. Thistle Hotel Newcastle. Starts 26th September 09. Free, 2 young people + 1 staff member, travel will be reimbursed.

EXPIRED Do you speak Trustees? - a 2 day accredited, residential course for 16 - 25 year olds. 28th-29th November in Leeds. Places are free including travel and accomodation.

EXPIRED Youth at the Table - 1 day training course for 16 - 25 year olds who are or would like to become a trustee of a charity. 2 young people + 1 staff member, travel will be reimbursed.

Surveys
BYC survey for young people - Your Experiences: Getting work, Getting Paid and Going Out

The British Youth Council (BYC) has launched a new online survey to find out how the current economic situation is impacting on the lives of young people. BYC wants to hear from young people themselves about whether the recession has had an impact on their lives, work, training, studying, volunteering and leisure time. BYC will be feeding back the results of this survey directly to the Office for the Third Sector (OTS).

All respondents will be able to enter a prize draw for a chance of winning a year's subscription to their favourite magazine!
chlamydia logoNorthumberland Tyne and Wear Chlamydia Screening Programme has commissioned a Survey for young people aged 15 - 24 years old - please advertise where you can, the research will help inform service improvement of the CSP.

With opportunties to showcase talent, enter competitions and get exclusive creative experiences such as work experience BBC Blast is the place for teenagers to get creative.
