Consultations with young people - "Growing up in Sunderland" - Poverty
In August 2008 SVSYF held an event at The Pit Stop Youth Centre in Washington. - 33 young people from 6 youth work organisations came together to discuss poverty, its causes and how they felt about poverty in the UK and within Sunderland.
A range of innovative and traditional techniques were used to raise and discuss issues on the day including a session involving interactive electronic voting - a new tool which allows for immediate and anonymous consultation with the ability to answer set questions and receive immediate feedback, also via instant text messaging and personal responses.
