SVSYF, on behalf of its members is committed to engaging with young people in the City of Sunderland to get their views on a range of topics and issues.
This year we have been busy consulting with young people on a variety of subjects including; Housing allocations and lettings, Privacy and consent on-line, knife crime, Anti-social behaviour, Safety and youth provision in Silksworth.
We have used a variety of techniques including group work, focus groups, questionnaires, MI-Voice on-line surveys and e-voting.

10 focus groups gathering young peoples views on new allocations and lettings.

22 young people from 3 youth projects spend the day with Gibber Theatre Company making their own DVD’s to show the effects of young people and smoking.
The results were made into a DVD that was screened in the city on 28th November at the Empire Cinema, Sunderland.
SVSYF has a copy of the DVD if anyone would like to borrow it.

Young people from 6 youth work organisations came together to discuss poverty, its causes and how they felt about poverty in the UK and within Sunderland.
Using the e-voting equipment we asked 143 young people aged 12 – 20 years, "The Government has just announced that it will spend £190 million to invest in "world class facilities". What do you think we should try and do in Sunderland?"
