Digital Challenge e-Champions
Some SVSYF members (A690 Youth Initative, NERS, HYPP, SNCBC, PYP, North Washington YIP )are participating in the Digital Challenge e-Champions project.

Members will have access to a range of technologies and support staff to help them explore how digital media can assist in closing the digital gap between hard to reach groups and society.

- Digital Challenge launches it Equipment Loan project in November 2008. The project is available to all the community and voluntary sector in Sunderland. People are aware you can loan a book from a library, a CD and DVD's but did you know you can loan a laptop, a projector, try out a Wii, capture stuff on a high def video camera or perhaps try out a new more accessible keyboards?
- Baroness Andrews (Communities and Local Government Minister) visited the "Swan Street Centre" to learn more about its good work.
- UK Government establishes it's own "Digital Inclusion Team" to explain the benefits of ICT in tackling social exclusion.
- May 2008 sees the launch of two of the Connectivity projects Hexagon and Flash-Meeting. Both of these offer alternative methods of virtual networking for the community sector. The projects will offer both open and secured virtual meeting spaces and will target those who are isolated at present.
