Why should funders and commissioners invest in your organisation? Because you’re good at what you do?! You KNOW that … but can you PROVE it?
Over the last few years a range of techniques, tools and concepts have been developed which aim to help organisations evidence the value of what they do. What’s the difference between them? Are they any good?! Would they appropriate for your organisation? Are they used by funders and commissioners or are you wasting your time? Should you have to better evidence your economic worth, or should commissioners put greater value on social benefit?!
This event is free to third sector and public sector organisations that work in Tyne and Wear; a charge will apply to private sector organisations and organisations that do not work in Tyne and Wear. Please email for more information or book a place

Youth Work, Positive Activities and the Outdoors Monday 26th April 2010 10.00am – 3.45pm Saltwell Towers, Gateshead £15.50
Youth work and informal education have always taken place outdoors as well as in buildings. On the streets, as detached youth work, and in the countryside, usually in the form of outdoor activities and adventure programmes. The importance of the outdoors as a venue for youth work and as a route to informal education has long been assumed but actually rarely considered or examined. The current interest in positive activities is merely the latest example of this link between youth work and the outdoors.
This day conference arranged for practitioners, students and others will offer a rare opportunity to reflect upon and discuss the role that activities and outdoor pursuits can plan in relation to contemporary youth work. All the speakers have been involved in outdoor work with young people and most are currently engaged in researching questions and issues linked to these forms of practice. In order to allow participants the opportunity to share ideas and discuss issues in some depth we are limiting the number of places to 50 therefore early booking is recommended.
